Jeremy “Jerry” Allen Horn, 52, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away September 29, 2021 after a courageous three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Jerry was born in 1969 in Bend, Oregon to Cecil and Susan (Drury) Horn-Helvey. He grew up in Silver Lake, Oregon and graduated from LaPine High School in 1987. He was extremely proud to say he was a third generation Oregonian.
Jerry truly had a gift in that he was extremely mechanically inclined. He said that as a child he would rather tear his toys apart to figure out how they worked rather than play with them. He could figure out what was wrong with a car without even having to see the car. His other gift was his memory of people
and things from the past. If you wanted to know anything about anyone in Silver Lake or Summer Lake, just ask… it might take him a day but he could come up with a name and place to fill in the blank.
Jerry knew from a young age that he wanted to drive truck. He learned to drive in a hay field at the age of 12 and spent the majority of his life doing just that, mostly hauling heavy equipment. In 2011, he and his family moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where he worked for East Side Highway District for nearly 10 years.
He loved to camp, hunt and fish, but being a Dad and a Papa were his greatest joys.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, daughters Natalie and Allison, bonus kids Jack (Theresa) Elam, Kayla Elam (Mike) , four grandkids, Kambria, Hunter, Tanner and Reygan, brother, Mike (Lindy) Horn, sister, Shirley (Logan) Sideras, mom, Susan Helvey, sister in law, Lisa Morgan, brother in law, Tom Wakup and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Cecil, his grandparents Roy and Gladys (Crouch) Horn, and James and Ruth (Williams) Drury.
If you knew Jerry, you were blessed. He lived life to the fullest and his sarcastic wit and sense of humor will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
The family will be having a private memorial at a later date.
