Jerry Louis Ausburn, 79
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Jerry Louis Ausburn, 79, of Post Falls, Idaho, peacefully
passed away on January 5, 2020 at Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Jerry was born on
March 25, 1940 in Van Nuys, California; the son of William and Amanda (Davis) Ausburn.
Jerry was born and raised in California. It was there that he met and married his adoring wife, Frances
Tepelmann in 1959. They spent 60 wonderful years together in holy matrimony. Jerry and Frances moved
to the Pacific Northwest in 1975 where they called Post Falls their new home.
Jerry was a man of faith. It was his love of his family and his relationship with God that kept him strong throughout the years.
Jerry was known to be an honest, and caring man. He was as tough as he was kind. Jerry was the type of
man who would do anything for anybody.
Jerry enjoyed working on cars and loved the opportunity to work on hot rods. He opened his own
automotive shop in 1983, Ausburn Auto Repair. The legacy of Ausburn Auto Repair will be carried on by the family. He owned several hot rods throughout his life; his pride
and joy was his 1957 Chevy BelAir. Jerry also enjoyed fishing locally or in the ocean, hunting and
camping, and relaxing with his lovely wife, Fran, after a hard day’s work.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Frances; his two sons, Tom (Margaret) Ausburn and Darrin (Lynda)Ausburn; his daughter, Stacy (Jeremy) Rhoades; his sister, Sylvia (Steve) Crank, sister-in-law,Nola Ausburn; eleven grandchildren;
sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his son,
Jerry William Ausburn; his brother, William O’Dell “Sonny” Ausburn; his sister, Emmigene; as well as
both parents.
