Heaven gained a special angel September 12, 2019. Jason was the only son of William M. Wood and Judy Sanderson Wood. He was born on January 22, 1965 in Billings, Montana and completed his schooling by graduating from Billings Senior High. He moved to Missoula, Montana and completed electronics school and then went to work for Keytronics. He also had a degree in communications from North Idaho College in Coeur D’alene. In January 2019 Jason went to work for Alpha Net as a coordinator. (Alpha Net is a research foundation for people who have Alpha 1.) Jason enjoyed his relationship with his clients who all had Alpha 1; every morning he would always say that he “loved his job.”
For years he had suffered with asthma, and in 2017 was diagnosed with Alpha 1; a serious genetic lung condition. It ultimately took his life on September 12, 2019, at the young age of 54. Jason was a people person and loved to learn and share his knowledge with others. He was such an intelligent and loving young man who had so much to offer.
Jason loved to cook with his children Logan and Kaylee. Many tasty recipes came out of his kitchen. His apple pie was the best! Video games were a must with Logan and watching movies with his children was a favorite past time. To his children he was simply the “best dad in the world!” He also enjoyed trivia games and the show Survivor.
Survivors include his devoted mother Judy Wood, children Logan, 16 and Kaylee, 14, Margaret Wood (mother of his children), aunts Sue Sanderson and Carole Hansen, uncle Steve and aunt Barb Kvapil, several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his faithful rescue dog Petey who was always by his side. He was preceded in death by his father William Wood, both sets of grandparents on his mother and father’s side, and uncle Jerry Sanderson.
He was a man who loved his family, God, his country, his friends, and his dog. Our hearts are broken and we live for the day when we can meet again. Goodnight sweet prince, love you always and forever – Mom.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
