Janice LaFon Muhlenbeck, 83, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away October 9, 2014 at the Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho. Janice was born July 1, 1931 in Valley Center Kansas to Seymour and Kathleen (Murphy) Francis.
Janice grew up in Kansas and later moved to Missouri, before moving to Idaho in 1970. Janice worked as a cocktail waitress , owned the first licensed daycare in Idaho in the seventies. She worked for Greyhound for three years in Caldwell, Idaho then moved to Wenatchee Washington and worked for Greyhound and Northwestern Trailways for 22 more years after that. She had a very active life raising her granddaughter with her church, The Living Hope Community Church grandparents group. They were always doing something. She eventually retired to Spokane, Washington where she lived in a senior retirement community. She made some good friends there. They played Yahtzee, Scrabble, Domino's, and had great meals with friends. Of course running around with her children and grandchildren kept her busy. She was always an active and loving person and will be loved and missed.
Janice is survived by six children Archie Stevens (Wendy) Hixon of Texas, Sharon (Jerry) Morrison of Post Falls, Idaho, Shelley Muhlenbeck of Caldwell, Idaho, Susan (Craig) Bridwell of Florida, John David Sanders of Florida, and Monique Muhlenbeck of Spokane, Washington; one sister Bonnie Casper of Caldwell; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents five brothers and sisters and one daughter Janet Hixon.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
