James (Jim) Gingrich, 52, unexpectedly passed away on August 20, 2023. Born a true Idaho boy on June 15, 1971 to Margaret Ann (Salter) Brookhart and Archie Gingrich in Lewiston, Idaho, he spent his childhood how a childhood should be spent. There was playing in the streets of Culdesac, where he lived his entire childhood, and of course he was also found climbing the stands and fences at a rodeo looking up to his dad until he lost him when he was just eight years old. He took pride in being a protective older brother, which would then transpire to being a protective uncle and stepfather years later. Jim graduated from Culdesac high school with the class of 1989 and started adulting by working many years for Potlatch in Lewiston.
Intrigued by the world of technology, he worked and took college courses eventually leading to him successfully owning his own tech business, YOURISD (The Right IT), LLC. The list of tech positions and achievements while holding numerous different positions and running his own business, shows Jim’s mentality that if you are going to do something, then do it right. He attributed much of his success to reading and educating himself through research. Jim shared his life with Rene’ Johnston for many years in which they enjoyed each other’s company while traveling and spending time with friends and family. His most recent years were shared with Cindy Stannard by his side. Together they moved to Post Falls, and took advantage of any free time by RZR riding up into the mountains, exploring, hiking and camping. Jim never had children, but Cindy's children helped fill that hole, especially his 'daughter' Emily whom he considered his own. Music, good movies or shows, Vegas trips, annual Hoopfest with lifelong buds, cheering on great nephews at sporting events, playing the drums, golf, and debating as a participant for the new podcast for “Decades” on the NGBN TV Network were all things Jim took pleasure in.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Archie Gingrich and grandparents. He leaves behind his mother Margaret Ann Brookhart. Sisters Donna Hash, Jan Nelson, Cheri (Steve) Woodin, and Amy (Daryl) Nap. 7 amazing Nephews. His partner Cindy Stannard and children. Along with so many other relatives and friends that meant a lot to him.
Memorial: September 23, 2023 @ 2pm.
