My beautiful mom, Hazel Marie Day, peacefully passed away in her home on October 22, 2016. This is the same day her mother, Dorothy, passed away 10 years ago. She fought a courageous two year battle against cancer inspiring everyone who met her with her Tenacious spirit and her love for her girls.
The memorial service, to celebrate her life, will be held at Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Dennis Anderson will be officiating. Hazel will be laid to rest in Libby, Montana.
Hazel Day was born in Scobey, Montana to Harold and Dorothy Day on December 6, 1950. She worked for the City of Post Falls 25 years before retiring in 2014. Sewing, crafting, community service, M&Ms, and dark chocolate were some of her passions.
Hazel is survived by her two daughters, Victoria Day and Valerie Day; her granddaughter Kelsey Orr; her 9 brothers and sisters; Donna Leatherberry, Ella Myers and husband Herman, Sharon Weber and husband Don, Robert Day and wife Sonya, Sara Hedahl and husband Keith, Dennis Day and wife Linda, Agnes Sunell and husband DeWayne, and Don Day and wife Gloria; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Hazel is no longer in pain; her Warrior's journey is over. She was well loved and loved well. We will carry her love, grace, and beauty in our hearts forever.
