Harriet Joyce Peterson

Harriet Joyce Peterson, 78 of Post Falls, Idaho passed away August 23, 2014 peacefully at home exactly as she wished. Harriet was born November 27, 1935 in Los Angeles, California to Harold and Elizabeth Nolan (Jackson) Haxton. Harriet was raised in California where she remained and raised her own family in Tujunga and Burbank, California. She was married five times; during her union with Brian Ross they were blessed with two girls, Cathy and Christy Ross. She met Fred Peterson and they created a beautiful daughter Michele (Shelly) Ross. They separated, and she married Marvin Gammel (deceased) and then Frank Isbell (deceased). Eighteen years later, she was reunited with the love of her life, Fred Peterson. They were married in 1981. They were married 21 years when Fred passed away in 2002. Harriet worked as the “Cookie lady” at Albertson’s grocery store in Carson City, Nevada. She eventually moved to North Idaho with her beloved dog “Buddy,” settling 14 houses away from her daughter Michele, son-in-law Mike Allis, and granddaughter Emily Allis in Post Falls. Harriet was a huge fan of QVC, and was very fashion forward. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and playing cribbage! She loved watching the faces of her loved ones when she kicked their butts in the games- which always involved a wager of some kind. Harriet is survived by two daughters Michele Ross of Post Falls, Idaho; and Cathy (Michael) Cutro of Illinois; grandchildren Michael Ryan, Erica, Justin, Cody, Spencer, and Emily; sister Helen Petrotta of Oregon; and nieces Donna and Pam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughter Christy Ross. A memorial service will be held September 6, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
