Haldis Heyerdahl Kurz, 76, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho passed away December 2, 2015 at her home. Haldis was born October 7, 1938 in Kristiansund N., Norway to Olaf and Haldis (Heyerdahl) Lie.
Haldis was raised in Norway where she graduated from High School. She then attended College in England while working as a nanny before immigrating to the United States as a young woman in 1960. Soon after she met Dr. Henry G. Kurz and they were married in 1961 in California. She continued working as a nanny in California before becoming a fashion model. She worked as a model in until 1982, and eventually sold dresses at a dress boutique.
She eventually moved to North Idaho in 2000, to be near her son, settling in Coeur d' Alene, at Bestland Retirement Community.
Haldis loved watching British comedies, the Golden Girls, and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved reading romance novels by Barbara Taylor Bradford, and Daniel Steel. She also loved shopping with her son.
Haldis was bright and cheery everyday, no matter her circumstances. She brought joy to everyone she came in contact with.
She is survived by her son Erik and daughter-in-law Queta Kurz of Post Falls, Idaho, Two grandchildren Trinity and Gabriel, one brother Ole Lie of Norway; two sisters Synnリve Lヨgren of Norway and Torill Sverdrup of Norway; six nieces and nephews Ole Jr., Petter, Christina, Tom, Cecelie, and Jリrn-wilhem. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Haldis's Life will be held at a later date.
