Georgella Decell

After a difficult battle with COPD, Georgella DeCell passed away peacefully on the morning of November 17, 2022. Georgella was born on May 12, 1940 to George and Maybelle Read in Vienna, NJ. After graduating from Hackettstown High School in 1959, she moved to New York City. In 1961, Georgella met Lloyd DeCell on an impromptu road trip to Indianapolis for the NHRA Nationals. They went on to be married for 59 years and had three children together. Georgella was a tenacious mother, raising three equally tenacious daughters. Georgella was our biggest supporter and our unceasing shoulder to cry on. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn’t have her as a mother. Georgella was predeceased by her parents George and Maybelle and her brothers Martin, Cecil, Russell and her sister Rachel. She leaves behind her husband Lloyd, her daughter Joyce Hardy and her husband Raymond, her daughters Barbara and Crystal, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
