Frank Edward Helstowski, 67, of Salmon, Idaho passed away July 22, 2015 at his home. Frank was born December 26, 1947 in Cudahy, Wisconsin to Frank and Frances (Cygan) Helstowski.
Frank attended and graduated from Cudahy High School in 1966, he then joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Wisconsin where he enrolled in the University of Wisconsin where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology.
Frank worked as a microbiologist in a medical lab in Wisconsin, where he also started his family. He later moved to Winnemucca, Nevada, there he managed a potato processing plant and continue to raise his 4 children. Later he became a DJ for the local radio station KWNA. He then moved to Livingston, Montana where he continued to grow his family having his 5th child. There he worked as a car salesman. Eventually he moved to Hamilton before finally settling in Salmon, Idaho in 2002, there he managed Abby Carpet Store.
Frank was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Salmon Ward, and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, taking care of his yard, and rock music.
He is survived by three sons Jim (Joy) Helstowski of Union, Oregon, Steven Helstowski of La Grande, Oregon, and Mathew Helstowski of Salmon, Idaho; two daughters Theresa Helstowski of Toledo Oregon, and Rebecca (Nathan) Powell of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandsons Riley, Brody, and Zachary Powell; one brother George Helstowski of Wisconsin; three sisters Barbara Miskowski of Wisconsin, Mary (Gene) Krueger of Wisconsin, and Margie Helstowski of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Tony Helstowski.
