Frances “Fran” Fitch of Rathdrum died on Sept 25th at the age of 84. Fran was born in 1937 to Arthur and Genevieve Hayes in Wisconsin- the youngest of six children. She traveled to visit her sister who lived in Washington and ended up settling in the Northwest.
Fran worked at Albertsons as a bookkeeper on the 4th and Harrison location in Coeur d’Alene, raising two children on her own when she married Kenny and was instantly mom to 4 more girls. Then life changed again. Kenny and Fran bought Gloria's Steakhouse and moved to Prichard, Idaho in 1975. It was quite popular to loggers, hunters, snowmobiles, and rafters. Many people remember the fabulous steak dinners and spent many evenings drinking beer with the Prichard locals until after midnight.
After 3 years they sold the steakhouse and retired I the big town of Prichard. Kenny was 48 and Fran was 41. They enjoyed many years of family and friends sitting around the campfire. When Kenny died Fran moved to Post Falls then back to Murray and later became a snowbird in Lake Havasu City where she enjoyed her friends in sunny Arizona.
Survivors include six children, Tim Robson of MT, Mary Stretch of Rathdrum, Pam Tillman of Post Falls, Chris Hama and Jodie Hobson, both of CDA, Kerrie Sue Wing of Juneau, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny.
