Forrest “Casey” Carnie Jones, 84, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away January 6, 2018 at Pacifica Senior Living in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Casey was born January 30, 1933 in Alton, Illinois to Joseph and Ruth (Lozier) Jones.
Casey grew up in Illinois where he attended and graduated from Jerseyville High School in 1951. Casey was set up on a blind date, with Charlotte Walter. They immediately hit it off and were later married May 19, 1956 in Alton, Illinois.
Casey worked as a PBX telephone installer, and his work took him to San Fernando Valley California in 1962. There they raised their children, until Casey and Charlotte retired to North Idaho in 1991.
He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses from 1975-2016. On October 7, 2016, he was baptized a Catholic by way of Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls.
Casey was very charitable man and always willing to help others. He was a mechanic before and during the Korean War (where he was eventually promoted to Military Police) and enjoyed fixing cars, engines of all kinds… and basically whatever else was broken. He even restored a rusty old 1953 Golden Jubilee Ford Tractor. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing throughout the years with family and friends at Granite Creek California. Anybody who has known Casey for more than five minutes can attest to his great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and tales of the past.
He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte of the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; three children Kim Jones Rener of North Ridge, California, Jeff (Marji) Jones of Simi Valley, California, and Scott (Djalaih) Jones of Post Falls, Idaho; one brother James (Janice) Jones of Coarse Gold, California; 18 grand-children; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Casey was preceded in death by his parents three sisters, and two brothers.
