Evelyn Nielsen

Evelyn Theresa Nielsen (87) of Hayden returned to heaven to be reunited with some of her family. She was born on January 4, 1926 to Ernest & Mary (Crosby) Gunst in New York, New York. She grew up in Bethlehem, PA and later moved to Northern California where she raised her family. Later in life she spent time in Florida and lived in Coeur d' Alene, ID the last seven years. Evelyn was a lady who lived by principles of integrity. She was a very hard worker and loved every opportunity to serve others. Her sweet and compassionate spirit was cherished by so many people and they loved to have her around because others felt better about themselves when they were around her. She was always concerned for others needs. Her greatest accomplishment was being a 'mother.' A mother who received the utmost respect from her 9 children, because they never questioned her love for each of them. She is survived by 3 daughters, Theresa, Kathy and Mary, and 4 sons, Tim, Mike, James and Joe. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Frances and 2 sons Tom and Jon, to whom she had the opportunity to have Mother's Day with.
