Eric Douglas Arnold, 49 years old, of Post Falls, Idaho, died 6/14/24 in Post Falls, Idaho. He was born 12/26/74 in Richland, WA, to Phyllis and Doug Arnold who later divorced. He was raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, by his parents Phyllis and Jerry Jay, who taught him his love of hunting, admiration of firearms, and taught him love.
He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1993 and went to Skagit College where he graduated with an associate degree. He later went on to receive his degree in Radiology Technology from North Idaho College.
Eric lives in Post Falls, Idaho with the love of his life and lifelong partner Karma M Gooch. He took great pride in the beauty of their home and spending time with his “step-children” Harley Gooch and Brady Gooch. Game night was always filled with laughter and joy.
He treasured spending time with his beautiful daughter Franki Arnold Edlin, her husband Kyle Edlin and their four children Xayda, Avery, Thorin and Annaston. He loved teaching his son Leif Arnold how to strum a guitar. He was the older brother to Ron Jay and younger brother to Kevin Jay and they shared a love of hunting. He had so many wonderful memories with his beloved Aunt Phyllis and Lucinda “Cindy” and his Grandmother Lucinda Arnold. He is preceded in death by his father Doug Arnold, his step-sisters Shanna McNall and Jennifer Jay and his beloved Grandmother Lucinda Arnold.
Eric worked at Northwest Specialty Hospital for over ten years, most recently as a Radiology Tech in the operating room. He was well-known for being a hard-working, dedicated coworker that easily brought laughter to all. He worked in the restaurant business for years prior to this secondary career, and is well-loved to this day by all in the area. Moon Time and The Porch were his last places of employment in the restaurant industry and they treated him like family.
Eric was well-known in the area as an exceptional golfer and avid pool player. He strived for perfection in everything he did. Eric was loved so fiercely in his community. He was respected by all that knew him, and admired for his talents. In his spare time, he enjoyed many activities with his dear friends, too many to name individually. He loved fast rides on the back of L.I.S.A, his “fiery red girlfriend with 2 wheels,” as he put it.
Eric was not religious but he did believe in the afterlife and he believed in visits from the ones we have lost. We will all be watching for those visits as we strive to live this life without Eric’s beautiful and loving presence.
