Marie Miles was born on October 13, 1919 in Lane Montana, just minutes after her twin brother Elford Murray Reynolds. She was the 9th of 16 children born to Stephen Ray & Edna (Boles) Reynolds. She resided with her family in Enid Montana until 1925 when they moved to Kootenai Idaho. There she grew up and attended grade school in Kootenai and high school in Sandpoint. In June of 1942 Marie married Lelun Roger Croxen . Lee was hit and killed by a train while driving a logging truck on September 11, 1947. Later Marie met Hebert M Miles and they were married on December 24, 1948 in Sandpoint Idaho.
Marie loved to sing, play her organ and read her bible. She was active in her church in Missoula and in Coeur D'Alene where she and Herb moved in 1972. She never had children of her own but loved her step children and her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She had a sharp wit and loved to laugh, she also enjoyed hosting dinner parties and spending time with people. Marie and Herb were married 64 years when he passed on August 12, 2013.
She is survived by 4 siblings, Jean Rheinschmidt (Robert) of Missoula, Joyce Boeck (Dale) of Sandpoint, George Reynolds (Frances) of Missoula and Donald Reynolds (Elara) of Sego. She is also survived by her stepson Robert Miles, her step grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
There will be a memorial service for both Herb and Marie on October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at The Gateway, 1165 Ironwood Drive, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
