Douglas Dean Collett,74 in Hope, ID died on March 9 2025 in Course d Lane ID. He was born on August 7 1950 in Decatur IL to Dale and Betty (Loggins) Collett. Doug grew up in Evergreen CO where he and his family enjoyed singing, skiing, ice skating. Doug graduated Evergreen high school and then joined the Navy in 1968. After his service returned to Colorado and earned his private pilot's license. Doug moved to Florida where he raised his family, He worked in security , maintenance and worked as Captain Doug on the Homosassa River in FL ,He was able to work along his father for a while on the River.

He married Carmela Saracino on May 17 2003 in Loveland Doug returned to Colorado and then to Hope ID. Doug enjoyed being a pilot, flying, the outdoors hunting fishing boating and gold prospecting. He is survived by his wife Carmela Hope Id, sons Abraham Hope ID, Thaddeus Boise ID, grandsons Hunter Hope ID, Jared McWilliams Huston TX and granddaughter Victoria McWilliams. His 2 brothers Stan and Patsy in Crystal River FL, Greg and Susan in Lake City FL, sister Mary Giarratano Prescott Valley AZ. Doug was preceded in death by sister Christine Tucker Homosassa FL and daughter Sarah McWilliams Huston TX.
