Dorothy Lorraine Zehm

Dorothy Lorraine Zehm, (Dort, Dottie), 86, was a life-time resident of Kootenai County, Idaho. She was born on her parent’s farm just south of Worley, ID, May 22, 1930. Her parents were Walter and Manilla Boswell. Dorothy died December 15, 2016 at Kootenai Memorial Hospital. Dorothy grew up in the Worley, Idaho area and attended the Worley School. In the fall of 1946, she met Harley Zehm and they were married in March of 1947 on her parent’s farm. At that time, she moved to the home Harley purchased in the town of Worley. All of her 5 children were born while living in Worley. In the fall of 1959, the family moved to Dalton Gardens, ID. Her husband Harley died in the fall of 2003. Due to health issues, Dorothy spent her final years in Assisted Living facilities with the primary facility being Wellspring Meadows in Hayden, ID. The staff at Wellspring loved Dorothy and took excellent care of her. Dorothy was a life-time homemaker. She loved dolls and had a large collection of dolls. In her early years, Dorothy attended the Worley Community Church and later Bethel Baptist church and the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Harley, her daughter Brenda and son Dan. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Carolyn Boser, Hayden Lake, ID; her son James (Jim) Zehm, Emmett, ID; and her daughter Sandra (Rogers) Compton, Hayden, ID. Dorothy has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Due to winter driving conditions a memorial service will be delayed until spring.
