Dorla J. Hanson Johnson, 89
Our precious mother Dorla got her angel wings on the evening of February 17, 2022, at the Hospice House of Spokane. She was born on
August 27, 1932 to James & Irene Johnson in Craig, Nebraska, the sixth of seven children. She and her family moved to North Idaho at the
age of six. She attended Coeur d’ Alene High and then Mark Su’s Beauty School in Coeur d’Alene to obtain her beautician’s license, a career that she enjoyed and cut family members’ hair well into her 80’s.
She was married to Barmarth (Dub) Hanson May 4, 1952 - January 22, 1978. They had six children: Barmarth (Doug), deceased 2020, Bernie (Diane) of Pinehurst, Carla deceased 1969, Andy (Julie) of Pinehurst, Steve (Brenda)
of Coeur d’Alene and Marla Giese (Dave) Spokane Valley, WA.
Dorla found love again with Stanley Johnson. They were married June 14, 1979 - July 04, 2016 and she gained three bonus daughters:
Deonne (Art) of Spangle, WA., Denise (Jerry) of Coeur d’Alene, Chris (Harry) of Kingston. She had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved each and every one of them beyond measure.
Dorla was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Mildred, Milford, Emaline, Carolyne, Bernice, and Belva, husbands: Barmarth (Dub)
& Stanley, children: Carla & Barmarth (Doug), grandchildren Rusty & Layla, and great grandchildren Ethan & Ella.
Dorla was very well known for her love of cooking, baking & entertaining, especially on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Everyone loved her homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, noodles year round plus so many more
delicious dishes & treats. Like our Momma would always say “there’s pie”.
