Donald (Don) Charles Teske passed away May 8, 2012 after a short illness at Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho, with family at his side.
Don was born September 18, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Carl and Elsie (Koch) Teske. He served in World War II with a Naval Submarine Division in 1943, as an Electricians Mate. He later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University. His career took him to California, Florida, Taiwan, Hawaii, Manila, Guam, Truk, Palau, and Diego Garcia. As an observer of the Bikini Atom Bomb tests he is recognized as an Atomic Vetran.
Upon retirement, he and his second wife, Jo (Henley), moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, where he designed and built their home. He is also survived by his brother Ken and Cora Teske of Central Point, Oregon, 7 children (Tim Quiroz, George Teske, Laura Teske, Nancy Caras, Senai Jones, Evan Teske, Pamela Longest), 3 step children (Debra Mendez, Donna La Chey, Kelly Hamilton-McHaley), 16 grand children, 9 great grand children, and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
He was a Master bridge player and active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
At Dons request there will be no service.
The surviving family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses, Cancer Center and Hospice Staff as well as the care provided by his granddaughter, Andrea. Memorial donations may be made to the Kootenai Cancer Center or the Hospice House.
