We were all shocked to hear that on March 19th, our active, fit father Don Anderson succumbed to a heart attack while on a bicycle ride. Upon further reflection, our determined father never gave up, always pushing himself to work harder and do more. His activities ranged from dancing to aerobatic airplane flying to hiking the Appalachian trail. He constantly pushed us, his four daughters, to strive for greater heights. Between us we have shared his passions for rowing, reading, softball, and the great outdoors. His lifelong career was in real estate, from investing, developing, sales & appraising. In the end, family and community became more and more important to him. He is survived by his grandson Nolan, daughters Jihan Anderson Deryckx (son-in-law Luke Anderson Deryckx), Shana Anderson, Briana Anderson, and Callie Anderson, and their mother Anne Anderson; He is also survived by his brother Ron McMahon, sister-in-law Janice, and his nieces Erin, Jenna and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents Della and Don Anderson, and his brother Garry. His closest friend Brian Stranger was with him through thick and thin since 6th grade. Brian, Kathy, Patti and Amy, along with Brian’s brothers and sister & their families are Don’s extended family and the reason he moved to Coeur d’Alene. The Anderson family is extremely grateful for all the Strangers. Don was a passionate blood donor with over 6 gallons donated in his lifetime. In memory of him we request donations of blood or financial support to Inland Northwest Blood bank or your local blood bank.
