Conner Riley Langford, age 8, passed away at home Friday, May 6, 2011, after a courageous life-long battle with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome; a rare and very severe form of epilepsy.
Conner was born in Payson, Utah, on February 10, 2003, to a kind and loving birth family, who wanted to give him the best life possible. We were overjoyed when Conner was placed in our arms February, 11 2003. From the very first moment we saw Conner, we felt his unbelievably strong spirit and knew he was a very special boy.
Soon after Conner was born, he started suffering from seizures. Year after year, his seizures worsened, despite trying every medication, VNS surgery, special diets, and other homeopathic treatments. Though Conner suffered from this terrible condition, he was a very happy and compassionate boy who touched many lives. His smile was infectious and his eyes were breathtaking. He was sweet, funny and kept a smile on his face even during the darkest hours.
Though his seizures took the freedom most young boys enjoy, he found a unique way to savor life. He loved watching movies with his three little sisters, throwing rocks, eating his favorite meals, and romancing pretty girls. Everyone that came in contact with Conner couldn't resist his charm. He loved going to school and adored all of his friends and helpers.
One of Conner's biggest loves in life was Herbie the Love Bug. In 2009, Wishing Star granted him an amazing wish to meet and ride in a junkyard Herbie. As soon as he saw Herbie, his eyes lit up. We've never seen him smile so big! Our boy was so very happy, and those moments are sacred to us.
Conner was preceded in death by Grandpa Bill in 2009.
He is survived by his Mommy and Daddy, Natalie and Bryan Langford, sisters: Katie, Brooke, and Brinley Langford, of Hayden, Idaho. Grandparents: Wendy Fehlings of CdA, Richard and Jolene Langford of Kaysville, Utah, Bob and Peggy Oldendorph of Hayden, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and birth family.
A memorial service to celebrate Conner's life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 10:30 am, at the Hayden LDS Stake Center, 2293 W. Hanley, Cd'A. All are welcome. Graveside ceremony will be private.
We'd like to thank everyone who was a part of Conner's life. He valued every relationship he made on this earth. We'd also like to thank all of Conner's doctors and other medical staff, who did everything in their power to heal him. You are the reason we could spend eight amazing years with Conner.
