"Life’s journey,’’ wrote Hunter S. Thompson, “is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘Holy Shit, what a ride!”
That is how Clifford J. Daniels lived his life, giving his all in everything he did and giving his all to everyone he knew. He had some ‘rough edges’, but past those edges was a heart as big as the sky he loved flying in and a laugh that captured your heart.
Our precious Cliff took his last flight on June 7, 2014, at the age of 62 while piloting an ultra-light-style aircraft in Polson MT.
When he was on the ground he loved traveling with his wife Marilyn throughout the Western and Southern states, visiting friends and family along the way. Cliff loved fishing for salmon with Tom Jarvis and ‘Chick’ Chickery in Myrtle Point, Ore., and deep sea fishing with Jerry McClung in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. His other passion was playing golf and bantering with dear friend John Blahnik.
Cliff was born November 21, 1951, in Sandpoint, ID to Joseph and Constance Daniels. He started out in the construction field working on his father’s crane as an oiler at the age of 18. He was in the Operating Engineers for many years and learned to operate anything they offered.
He went on to own several businesses prior to he and his wife, Marilyn, starting Chipmasters, Inc. in 1999. Their dedication to their business brought it to where it is today.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Connie (Sacco) and stepson Daryl Raymond “Ray” Clark.
He is survived by wife Marilyn, stepson Bret T. Davis (Brittany), daughter Sara, son Travis, sister Alexis Newman (Jim), brother Frank (Cheri), nieces Charlotte, Charity and Rachel, nephews Shawn Payne (Tammy), Eli Newman, Joseph Daniels, Tim Daniels (Samantha) and Paul Daniels (Delana).
A Memorial Service for Cliff will held on Saturday June 14, 2014 2:00Pm at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, ID. Please visit Cliff’s online memorial at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
