Brent Kidwell

March 4, 1964 — October 24, 2024

Post Falls

On October 24,2024 we lost Brent Kidwell unexpectedly. Born on March 3,1964 in Brawley, California, to Tarzan and Ruby Kidwell, he graduated from BUHS in 1983. Brent began his career as an EMT with Gold Cross Ambulance before joining the Imperial Irrigation District, where he worked as a zanjero.

In 2000 he moved his family to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, eventually settling in Post Falls. Brent was passionate about helping others, especially through his dedication to Camp STIX, a diabetic camp his family has been involved with for 25 years, as both of his sons live with type 1 diabetes.

Brent married Colleen Gould Kidwell in Brawley in nineteen eighty-nine. Together, they built a loving family that included their two sons, Zachary Zan Kidwell and Jacob Jeremiah Kidwell, and their daughter, Sydney Kidwell Millette, whom Brent had the honor of walking down the aisle two years before his passing.

Brent found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting in his younger years, and cruising on his pontoon boat. Gardening, barbecuing, and playing Xbox with his kids were some of his favorite ways to unwind. He also loved family game nights and enjoyed watching Star Trek and other sci-fi shows.

Brent is survived by his wife of 35 years, Colleen; his children, Zachary, Jacob, and Sydney, along with her husband, Chris Millette. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Merlin Kidwell and Craig Kidwell, and his sister, Iris Kidwell. Brent was a beloved uncle to his two nieces, Jody Kidwell and Jennifer Kidwell, and his nephew, Gary Kidwell.

At the family’s request, those who knew Brent are encouraged to share any memories they may have of him, helping to celebrate and keep alive the wonderful life.
