We’ve all come here today to mourn the loss of our father, but to us he is not lost at all, he is celebrating with his Savior walking on streets of Gold. So we’d like to celebrate his life here today. As his children he will never be gone from this world. He is part or our DNA, the fabric of our lives and we see him in each other’s faces, hear him in our laughter, express his personality through our sense of humor.
As members of the OG, it is our honor to share with you the man we love, our father, our Daddy:
William (Bill) Francis Engle, born to Loren Rupert and Mercedes Delphina on August 22, 1941 in Los Angeles, California
He went home to be with Jesus on 12/23/21 at 80 years old as a resident of Post Falls, Idaho. He relocated from southern California to secure a future for his family and to continue his hypnotherapy business, never knowing the impact he would have in such a short time.
Family:
Married to his high school sweetheart and best actress, Paula Laverne Montgomery, January 6, 1961-1989 and fathered 5 children from that marriage:
*Deborah Anne Engle
*Lisa Lou Ramsey
*Cynthia Suzanne McComb
*Amanda Melissa Neal
*April Laverne Engle
Our parents married young, innocent, but very much in love. There was love, laughter and security in our home. We learned who we were, what value we had to offer to the world and that we were loved by God. Our Daddy was fiercely protective of his daughters; his audience, his biggest fans.

Married to Lori Marie Garcia in April 6, 1991-present, fathered 1 child from that marriage:

Daddy was a supportive, devoted and loving husband, father and provider. He really enjoyed sharing his love for the theater with Taylor, even working on productions together. All of these bullet points alone sum up a really big and full life as they talk about a man who gave his all every step of the way. Sometimes a life that is bigger than the sum of 5 others, but for me this man was even bigger than that. He was larger than life. He was my first love, my hero, mentor, friend and confidant for nearly 6 decades. I am so grateful that God chose to put me in this family, with this Daddy, with my sisters. Life has been up and down, in and out, traumatic and joy filled, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. What I love most about my Daddy’s story is the redemption he found in so many places of his life and most importantly, with his Savior who he loves. Last week he said, “When you know the truth of the Word, you can never unknow it”. He loved eschatology, he loved to study and talk about it. He was always looking toward the horizon and the coming of his King.

For me, the past week and a half has been a blur, as though time has been standing still. However, the past 2 days have gone by so quickly that I sometimes feel I won’t be able to hold onto the memories of the man I have loved for 57 years. He made me feel beautiful every time he called me Darling. I see my father when I see my own eyes in the mirror. When I gather with my sisters I will always hear his laughter and inappropriate humor. I want you all to know it was a privilege to stand by his bed, hold his hand, sing hymns, and kiss his face as we ushered him into the arms of his Savior. We sat with him until they took his body away. As his Savior never left him, neither did we. Well done, good and faithful servant, well done.
