Barbara Louise (Peters) Baker blessed the world with her presence on January 24, 1946. Known by those closest to her as “Barb” or “Barbie,” she grew up as the oldest of three girls in Inglewood, California. Barbie was always very creative, social, and passionate about animals.
In 1977, she married the love of her life, Bill Baker. That same year they purchased and established Shade Tree Arabian Ranch in Riverside, CA, where they bred prize-winning Arabian show horses, Rottweilers, and Australian Shepherds. In April of 1982, they welcomed their pride and joy to the ranch - a child of their own, Gregory Baker.
In 2015, Bill & Barb sold the ranch and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to be closer to their growing family. As much as Barb loved animals and all sorts of crafting, nothing on this earth brought her more joy than her son and grandchildren. She adored them with all her heart and relished in every opportunity to shower them with love and affection.
On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Jesus called Barbara to be by His side and live in peace for all eternity in heaven. She was just three days shy of 77 years old.
Her memory will be treasured by her husband of 47 years (Bill Baker), son and daughter-in-law (Greg & Tabitha Baker of Southern Idaho), grandchildren (Abigail, Chloe, Bennett and Nolan Baker), sisters and their families (Deborah and Randall Sucamele of Laguna Hills, California and Nancy & Jim Doty of Hayden Lake, Idaho) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Edward Peters.
