Arlene Marjorie Schulte, "Margie" died December 7, 2023, peacefully at home. She was born on August 1, 1934, in Milford, Connecticut to William and Arlene (Munson) Smith. She was the daughter of a fire chief and grew up in Milford with her four brothers, Bob, Don, Johnny, and Jim. She went to school K-12 in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. Margie's parents passed away during her teenage years and Margie raised her brother Johnny.
In 1957, She married Carl William Schulte, also from Milford, and remained married for the rest of her life. Arlene "Margie" embarked upon perhaps the greatest of occupations a woman can perform...A lifelong vocation, the consummate, Mother, Teacher, Homemaker. A Vocation of which she enjoyed and performed literally to her final breath! Margie would deliver her greatest lesson in her final days with children present peacefully in her home. Margie with her unique traits, her wit, humor, and wisdom, would use these traits. She homeschooled her youngest son, 5 of her grandchildren, and even 1 great-grandchild successfully.
Arlene "Margie" can be remembered for riding her bicycle to the grocery store, and taking her weekly trips with her youngest aboard! She can also be remembered for sitting in her chair and knitting clothes for all of those she loved. Perhaps, she will be remembered most for her warm and welcoming trademark smile. A smile that could heal a wounded soldier, a sick child, or a grieving stranger. A woman God awaited her with open arms!
Margie's hobbies and interests were extensive, which she incorporated into her daily home life and assisted her in raising all of her children.
Margie's special accomplishments are extensive. Everyone who knew her knew this well. Margie raised her five children and enjoyed homes in Indiana, Washington, Kansas, southern Idaho, Montana, and finally north Idaho. Perhaps her greatest achievement was her relationships with her family, all of her friends, and perhaps a stranger or two. These relationships passed the test of time and remained intact with Grace. Grace that will be everlasting and most importantly beyond her passing.
Margie, who greeted everyone with her trademark smile, truly made this world a better place and will be missed, missed until the end of time...
