Aaron Campbell was 51 years old. He resided with his father, Barrett Campbell, and his niece and adopted daughter, Sutton, at Hauser Lake in Idaho. He passed away on April 4th at the North Idaho Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho.
Aaron was born in 1973 to his mother, Maria Campbell, in Santa Barbara, California. He graduated from Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, Washington, in 1991. He has worked as a financial agent, a real estate agent, and most recently as a hockey referee in both Lynnwood and then Post Falls, Idaho and Spokane, Washington. He is a born-again Christian who is now home with Our Lord, as well as his mother and younger brother, Samuel, who is Sutton’s father.
As a child and adult, his passion was for baseball and football, but especially hockey. As a young man, he played hockey for the Ironmen, a Seattle amateur league team. He played in a number of tournaments as well. Aaron became Sutton’s full-time guardian, receiving that responsibility from his mother and father after his mother passed away in 2020. He was her daddy and caregiver until his recent death. Aaron was never married and had no other children. He has two brothers, he being the middle son. The most important people in his life after family were his hockey referee comrades, and especially most recently, his fellow Inland Empire Hockey Association officials.
Aaron is to be interred at the Rathdrum City Cemetery on April 11, 2025, in Rathdrum, Idaho.
