Obituary of Iery Geigle

Iery Eugene Geigle, 90, of Osburn, Idaho, left us to be with our Heavenly Father on August 14th, 2017.  Iery was born May 15, 1927 in McLaughlin, South Dakota to Henry and Lydia (Kunz) Geigle.

Together, Iery and Ruth bought their own farm in North Dakota and started raising their family.  In 1955, they sold their farm and ventured to north Idaho where they finished building their family of 4 sons and 4 daughters whom Iery referred to as his Kings and Queens.  In Idaho, Iery worked for Gene’s Radio/Gambles Store, managed the warehouse for Coeur d’ Alene Hardware, and worked as a mechanic/welder at the Coeur Mine.  After his retirement, Iery worked part time at Valley Building/True Value.  Throughout his working years, Iery also built and operated the Osburn Wash-O-Mat and was known throughout the Silver Valley as a skilled appliance repairman.

Iery enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood, but he truly enjoyed family time.

Loving his community, Iery was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Osburn.  He also enjoyed memberships in the Masonic Temple, Shriners, Eastern Star, Osburn VFW, Elks, and Eagles.

Iery is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth (Huber) Geigle; four sons, DuWayne (Sandy) Geigle, Arlen (Marian) Geigle, Rodney (Shauna Lee) Geigle, and Jim (Kim) Geigle; four daughters, Sharon (Arney) Wick, Karen (Barry) Pearson, Nila (Nick) Jurkovich, and Michelle (Jim) Walcker; three brothers, Herbert Geigle, Richard Geigle, Ervin Geigle; four sisters, Irene Hach, Delores Knuth, Mae Harris, and Darlene Hinson; twenty-two grandchildren, Cheri, Christine, Annette, Sharlene, Heather, Kurtis, David, Trina, Cole, Tyler, Joshua, Stephanie, Jennifer, Joe, Jessanne, Leslie, James, Chris, Matthew, Talesa, Brandon, and Janae; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; fifteen great, great-grandchildren.
