John William Trople

February 27, 1932 — December 13, 2016

John W. Trople passed away on December 13,2016 with his wife and his family at his side. He had been hospitalized at Sacred Heart Hospital since November 3rd after suffering a stroke while living at Rose Point Assisted Living. He served in the Navy; retiring from the Navy in 1978 after 23 years of service to his country. John had many careers over the years; selling insurance, real estate, fireman and finally as owner of Idaho Fire Extinguisher Company. He was a hard worker, who liked talking to everyone he met. He always had a story or a joke to share. When asked how he was doing; one of his favorite sayings was “Never felt better or had less”, and he was one to share advice in “never take a wooden nickel” or “keep your powder dry”. He would go out of his way to help someone in need. He loved animals; many a time, strays became part of the family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esther; his daughter, Shawn Trople Lusarreta of Spokane, granddaughter, Caitlin (Aaron) Guehrn, grandson, Justin Lusarreta of Spokane, sister, Pat Gillen, sister-in-law, Doris Trople and many nieces and nephews around the country.
